INEZ ANNA GEBERS

1932 - 2024

Inez Anna Gebers of Auburn was born January 8, 1932, north of Johnson, Nebraska, to George and Minnie (Kanzmeier) Woerlen. Inez passed away May 4, 2024, at the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, having reached the age of 92 years, 3 months, and 26 days. Inez graduated with the class of 1950 from Johnson High School. On October 7, 1951, Inez was united in marriage to Loren Gebers. Loren and Inez raised five children on the family farm northwest of Johnson. Inez loved being on the farm. After Loren passed away in 1992, Inez moved off the farm and into Johnson where she lived until October 2020. She then moved to Longs Creek in Auburn.

Inez was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 24 years and was a member of the Zion ALCW. She was also a member of the Gideon’s, J and M Golden Ruler’s Club, and the Sundowner’s. Inez enjoyed baking, taking photos, quilting, and volunteering. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, husband Loren and son Dennis.

Inez is survived by her children: Teresa of Norfolk, NE; Duane (Sandy) of Coon Rapids, MN; Marcia (Ira) Beasterfield of Rib Lake, WI; Phillip Gebers of Lincoln, NE; daughter-inlaw Diane of Gretna, NE; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church Johnson, Nebraska, with Pastor Robert Rademacher officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th Street in Auburn. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m.
