CLARENCE YATES SR.

1934-2024

Clarence Yates Sr. of Auburn, Nebraska, formerly of Humboldt, Nebraska, passed away on April 23, 2024, at the age of 90 years and 2 months. He was born on February 23, 1934, in Brownville, Nebraska to Joseph Yates and Minnie (Williams) Yates. He graduated from Auburn High School with the class of 1952.

On June 6, 1953, he was married to Margaret Baker. To this union six children, Clarence Jr., Nancy, Carol, Debra, Susan, and Allen were born. They lived in Humboldt, Nebraska for many years. They were later divorced. He then married Frances Stewart.

When Clarence first moved to Humboldt, Nebraska he owned Yates Auto Repair before becoming the manager of the O. A. Cooper Gas Station. Then he became an over-theroad truck driver until his retirement.

In November of 2023 as his health started to decline, he moved to Fountain View Memory Care in Omaha, Nebraska where he lived until April 11, 2024, when he went to live with Jr. and Lisa. Lisa’s sister, Lori McClellan, assisted with his care. He is proceeded in death by his Parents, Wife Frances, Daughter Debra, Son Alan, Son-in-Law Steve “Cash” Herron, Sister-in-Law Nancy (Osborn) Yates, Granddaughter Michelle (Storant) Michener, Grandson Reno Herron, Great-Grandson “TJ” Michener and Niece Jackie (Baker) Williams. He is survived by his Son Clarence (Lisa) Yates Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Daughter Nancy (Robert) Storant of Lincoln, Nebraska, Daughter Carol Herron of Rock Port. Missouri, Daughter Susan (Jerry) Smith of Faucett, Missouri, Brother Bob Yates of Auburn, Nebraska, 14 Grandchildren, 23 Great- Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.
