After picking up two of Peru State’s four wins last week, Daniel Castillo (Barranquilla, Colombia) was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference’s (Heart) baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Peru State athletic director Wayne Albury recently announced that women’s golfer Taylor Finke (Battle Creek) and baseball player Daniel Castillo (Barranquilla, Colombia) were selected as April’s Bobcat Athletes of the Month.
The Auburn Bulldogs Baseball Team played second seed Plattsmouth even for most of eight innings before losing by the score 4-3. The locals ended their season at Hastings with a 1-15 record, while the Blue Devils improved to 15-8 and advanced to a semifinal matchup with third seed 12-7 Wayne, which beat Douglas County West 12-2.
The Auburn Bulldog boys’ golfers captured two team titles in their last action before districts.
In their final meet before districts, the Johnson-Brock Eagles and Lady Eagles were second and third, respectively, in the seven school Orville Rettig Invitational. The action occurred Friday, May 7 at Nebraska City.
