Three Wins Last Week Move Bulldog Baseball Team to .500

The Auburn Bulldog baseball team is 5-5 after winning three times during the past week. Monday, April 8, the Bulldogs twice came from behind pulling out a 9-7 win at Beatrice. Late Wednesday afternoon, April 10, Auburn scored 13 runs in the third and fourth innings en route to a 16-4 blasting of Falls City in 5 innings. At Tushla Field Friday, April 12, the Bulldogs blanked Central City 10-0 also in 5 innings.

Beatrice Game

Auburn jumped off to a quick 3-0 lead holding it until Beatrice tallied 5 times in the bottom of the third. The Bulldogs regained the lead 6-5 with three in the fifth. The Orange answered with 2 in the bottom of the frame retaking the lead. Auburn took the lead for good with 2 sixth inning runs adding another in the seventh. The Bulldogs outhit the Orange 11 to 8. Hitting: Two each by Brody Darnell, Josh Lambert, Branden Lavigne, Tye Ommert and Liam Raison. Brad Hall also hit safely. Darnell’s double was the one extra base hit. Runs: Lavigne 3; Darnell 2; and 1 apiece by Hayden Hall, Lambert, Ommert and Kyson Warner. RBI: Lambert and Raison 2 each; and Darnell, Brad Hall and Lavigne 1 apiece. Bases on balls: Warner 2; and 1 by Darnell, Hayden Hall and Raison. Stolen bases: Darnell and Lavigne. Darnell and Hayden Hall were both safe on Beatrice errors. Lambert and Ommert hit into fielder’s choices.
