Third Place Finish for AHS Boys in ECNC Tournament

The Auburn boys basketball team finished third in the 2019 East Central Nebraska Conference tournament with wins over Louisville and Elmwood-Murdock, but picked up their second loss of the season to Yutan in the semi-final round.

The Bulldogs entered the tourney as #2 seed with a 13-1 record, including victories over the #1, #3, and #4 seeds in the tournament.

After a first round bye, Auburn faced the #10 seed Louisville Lions at Auburn High School. Playing their first game in two weeks due to weather related cancellations, the Bulldogs started slowly. Auburn’s leading scorers, Cam Binder and Josh Lambert combined for eight first half points. While Binder and Lambert struggled, Brody Darnell led the Bulldogs with 7 first half points, including 2 of Auburn’s 5 second quarter points. Darnell finished with a team high 14 points, as well as his first two three pointers of the season.
