Peru State’s Boshart Picked to Attend Campbell Trophy Summit

The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced earlier that 214 previous nominees for The William V. Campbell Trophy® have accepted invitations to attend the Third Annual Campbell Trophy® Summit, sponsored by Intuit Inc., at Stanford University in California.

Peru State’s Dan Boshart (Wood River) will be among the 214 former collegiate football players in attendance. While the majority of the former players planning to attend are from the 2000’s, there are several others from the 80’s and 90’s who will be in attendance. It appears Boshart is just one of three with Nebraska ties who will be in attendance. Two former Huskers Mark Pelini (2014) and Pat Tyrance (1990) will also be in Stanford. While the majority of those attending will be from NCAA DI programs, there are other from NCAA DII, NCAA DII, and a few from the NAIA.

Boshart, who will be student teaching and helping coach football this fall at Gibbon High School, is excited about this opportunity. So were the Gibbon administration and Peru State student teaching officials. They encouraged Boshart to attend prior his starting of student teaching.

About the experience, Boshart stated, “It’s a real honor to be included in this opportunity. For many of us student-athletes, this is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I’m grateful to be able to attend the Summit. I’m looking forward to hearing from successful business leaders across America and learning about their habits and tips that have made them successful.
