Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles Come Up One Set Short at State Volleyball; Finish Season Third in Tourney and Final Ratings
LINCOLN - The Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles’ quest for their fourth straight Class D-1 State Championship fell a few points short in the semifinal round against Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family this past week.
After defeating Cambridge in the opening round in straight sets the night before, the Lady Eagles went toe to toe with H/LHF in the semifinal match, but lost in five very close sets, 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-27 and 12-15. The Lady Eagles rebounded on Saturday in the third place game, however to defeat Pleasanton 3-1 and claim 3rd place overall.
After a run of three straight Class D-1 State titles and a 3rd place finish in this year’s State Tournament, the Lady Eagles can hold their heads high as they finished the season with a 31-4 final season record.
