Johnson-Brock Boys Claim Pioneer Runner-up Title

PAWNEE CITY, LEWISTON - The Johnson-Brock Eagles were the #2 seed heading into the 2019 Pioneer Conference Basketball Tournament and that’s exactly where they ended up after playing three games against quality opponents throughout the week. The Eagles defeated Diller/Odell and Tri-County before falling to the #1 Falls City Sacred Heart Irish in the Championship game.

Johnson-Brock vs. Diller/Odell

The Eagles took the floor against the #7 seeded Diller/Odell Griffins on Tuesday, January 29th and rolled to a 64-27 triumph.

Johnson-Brock jumped out on the Griffins 20-2 in the 1st quarter and never looked back. By halftime, they were up 33-8 and then they outscored D/O 18-16 in the 3rd period and a went on a 13-3 run to end the game.

Kaden Glynn led the Eagles with 12 points with 2 treys and had 7 assists while Cole Fossenbarger scored 11 points with 1 trey and 1 block. Ty Hahn chipped in 9 points with 1 trey, 5 steals, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Dylan Rowe added 8 points with 8 rebounds and 3 assists; Caleb Fossenbarger scored 6 points; Shane Westhart scored 6 points with 3 rebounds and Conner Smith had 5 points with 1 trey. Seth Moerer contributed 4 points with 4 rebounds and Wyatt Volker added 3 points with 1 trey.
