First National Bank Auburn Seniors Win Twice in Tourney
The First National Bank Auburn Senior American Legion team took fifth in the Southeast Nebraska Baseball Conference tournament.
Early Friday night, June 23, the Seniors defeated Falls City, 7-2. Sunday afternoon, June 25, Auburn clipped Louisville/Weeping Water, 1-0. The games were played at Falls City and Syracuse, respectively. First National Auburn Seniors have a 5-8 record entering the final week of June.
Falls City
First National Bank Seniors scored twice in the second inning and three times in the third inning taking control. Falls City’s tallies came in the fourth and sixth innings.
Four Auburn batters had two hits each: Jaxson Balm, Trayven Boellstorff, Drew Dixon and Tanner Ebeler. Balm’s hit included a double, also scoring twice while reaching base on an error. Dixon had a double and an RBI. Tanner Ebeler crossed the plate twice, driving in a run, stealing two bases and was safe on an error.
