Eagles Defeat BDS and Lose to Sacred Heart at MUDECAS; Third Place Game Delayed by Weather; Schedule Changes

At the A Division of last week’s MUDECAS boys’ basketball tournament in Beatrice, the Johnson-Brock Eagles split their first two games.
The tournament opened with a battle of Eagles, Johnson-Brock coming out on top 56-36 over Bruning-Davenport/Shickley early Tuesday night, Jan. 8.
Johnson-Brock trailed 7-9 after one quarter battling back to even the halftime score at 18. Johnson-Brock outscored BDS 38-18 during the final 16 minutes.
In the Thursday night, Jan. 10 semifinal, the Eagles lost to the Falls City Sacred Heart Irish 43-61. It was Johnson-Brock’s first loss after opening the season with 12 victories.
