Cendejas and Tavarez Cabrera Named Heart ‘Players of Week’

After their performances for the week of March 25, Adam Cendejas (Chino Hills, Calif.) and Eddy Tavarez Cabrera (San Cristobel, Dominican Republic) were respectively named as the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Pitcher and Player of the Week.

For Tavarez Cabrera, this was his second time earning the Pitcher of the Week recognition.

The Bobcats dropped a contest with Bellevue in non-conference play before sweeping Mount Mercy (Iowa) in Heart action on Saturday and Sunday.

Cendejas, a 6-2 junior first baseman, had multiple hits in all four games Peru State played this week. In the loss against Bellevue, Cendejas went two for four and scored a run. Against the Mustangs, he went seven for ten with three doubles. Cendejas drove in six runs during the week
