Bulldogs Sweep District Softball, Returning to Class C State Tourney
The Auburn Bulldog softball team won four games Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6 and 7 punching their second consecutive ticket to the Class C state tournament.
The Bulldogs edged Freeman 6-5 before rolling 10-1 over Cass County Central in five innings on Oct. 6 at the Auburn Recreation Complex. Like many district tournaments across Nebraska, games were delayed because of rain.
Auburn defeated Conestoga twice Oct. 7 taking the District C-1 title. Respective scores were 3-1 and 8-5. The Bulldogs take a 24-8 record to state.
