Bulldogs Roll to 63-14 Homecoming Win Over Omaha Concordia

The start of the 2019 football season was bumpy for the Auburn Bulldogs. Heading into week 4 of the season, the Bulldogs were yet to get a win. With a 0-3 record and losses to Fairbury, Fort Calhoun, and Milford, Auburn was in a hurry to capture their first victory of the season.

After falling short to Milford 34-20 on Friday, September 13, Auburn’s next opportunity to get some traction on the season came on Homecoming night against Omaha Concordia. The Mustangs of Omaha Concordia had a 1-2 record, and with a couple of key players out from injuries, they were vulnerable.

At the opening kickoff of the Homecoming game on Friday, September 20, sophomore Ryan Dixon was able to give the Bulldogs something they haven’t had all year: an early lead. The sophomore took the opening kickoff 86-yards all the way to the end zone, and gave the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead only 13 seconds into the contest. Fortunately for the Bulldogs, those 6 points would only be the first of many.
