Bulldogs Amanda Brown, Katie Koso Ran in Cross Country Championships

Auburn High School juniors Amanda Brown and Katie Koso competed in the Oct. 21 State Cross Country Championships held at the Kearney Country Club. Brown finished 35th overall in Class C with a time of 21:53, while Koso placed 67th in 22:43. Taya Skelton, a sophomore from Fort Calhoun, ran the 5000 meter race in 19:34 to finish first out of 93 competitors from across the state. Bulldog Coach Mark Oliver had this to say about his state qualifiers, “The Dynamic Duo of Amanda Brown and Katie Koso wrapped up their junior seasons with a couple of outstanding performances at the state meet. Amanda ran her best time ever at the Kearney Country Club and placed a very respectable 35th.
