Bulldogs 3-0 After 29-14 Win Over Omaha Concordia

Drew Dixon scored twice Friday night, Sept. 8, as the Auburn Bulldogs defeated Omaha Concordia 29-14 at home. Auburn raises its season record to 3-0. Omaha Concordia falls to 1-2 on the year.

Coach Tony Janssen’s Comments

“Defense and special teams led the way in this victory. Baily Darnell returned the opening kickoff to Concordia’s 17 yard line to set up our first touchdown drive. Our second touchdown followed a blocked punt by Michael Lombardi that put our offense on the opponent’s 26 yard line. Brody Darnell hit a 31-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to break a 14-14 tie. Our final touchdown was a 13- yard interception return by Branden Lavigne. Our offense was able to finish drives and make a couple of big plays when we needed them, including a 79 yard touchdown run by Drew Dixon. We need to see more consistent execution on that side of the ball this week. Overall, the guys showed a lot of heart in this game and made some clutch plays in key situations. This win sets up a big game and a great opportunity for us. We travel to Fairbury this Friday (Sept. 15) to take on the 3-0 Jeffs.”
