Bulldogs 26-0 Entering Next Week’s Class C-1 State Basketball Tourney After Sub-District, District Wins

Auburn’s boys basketball team finished the 2019-20 regular season with a perfect 23-0 record. The Bulldogs have held the #1 rating in Class C-1 all year. They also claimed the Wayne Holiday Tournament championship and the East Central Nebraska Conference Tourney title. While the regular season met expectations after a 2018-19 state championship team returned four starters, the Bulldogs are locked in on the 2020 postseason. In order to make the eight team state tournament, Auburn would have to win the C1-1 subdistrict with two wins, as well as another victory in the district championship.

Auburn first played on February 25 against Falls City, which beat Syracuse to advance to the semifinals of the C1-1 Subdistrict Tournament. The Bulldogs had faced the Tigers of Falls City less than a month ago on January 31 in Auburn, where the Bulldogs defeated the Tigers 55-40. The team that the Bulldogs would face in February at Beatrice High School would catch fire unlike the previous meeting with Auburn.
