Bulldog Girls Win at Syracuse and Lincoln Lutheran

The Auburn Bulldog girls’ basketball team concluded the regular season with a 14-5 record. Tuesday night, Feb. 5, Auburn won 46-41 at Syracuse. Thursday night, Feb. 7, the Bulldog girls came from behind bringing home a 39-31 triumph over Lincoln Lutheran.
Syracuse Game
Two Bulldogs finished the game in double figures on the scoreboard. Ashley Teten with 17 and Sydnie Reeves with 14. Reeves was 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Additional Auburn scoring: Rachel Bohling 7; Emma Goering 4; and 2 each from Leah Grant and Mollie Grant. The Bulldogs shot 13 of 39 from 2-point range, 33.3 percent; made 1 of 8 from beyond the arc, 12.5 percent while connecting on 17 of 18 free throws, 94.4 percent. Rebounds: Teten 9; Reeves 6; Mollie Grant 4; Goering, Leah Grant and Addie Gyhra 3 apiece; Bohling 2 and Bekah Nelson 1. The Bulldogs edged the Rockets on the boards, 35 to 33. Assists: Bohling, Leah Grant, Mollie Grant and Reeves 1 each. Steals: Bohling 3; 2 apiece by Mollie Grant, Reeves and Teten; and Goering and Nelson 1 each. Mollie Grant finished the game with 5 fouls. No other Bulldog was called for more than 2 fouls. Meredith Clark led Syracuse with 21 points, the only Rocket scoring in double figures. Syracuse shot 14 of 34 in 2-pointers, 41.2 percent; was 3 of 21 in treys, 14.3 percent and hit 2 of 5 free throws, 40 percent. Auburn had 17 turnovers with the Rockets turning the ball over 20 times.
