Bulldog Girls Team; Nathan Wright and Seth Zimmerman Heading to Friday’s Class C State Cross Country Meet

Baily Darnell scored three times Friday night, Oct. 13, in the Auburn Bulldogs’ 41-0 home rout over Syracuse. The win secured the District C1-2 championship for Auburn sending them to the Class C-1 state football playoffs. The Bulldogs finish 4-0 in the district and are 7-1 overall. It will be Auburn’s first football playoff appearance since 2008. Syracuse is 1-2 in the district and 2-6 overall.

Coach Tony Janssen’s Comments

“This win wrapped up a district championship for us, which was a big goal for our team heading into the season. These guys have put in a ton of work to get to this point and they should be proud of this accomplishment. But, there is still a lot of work to be done and a lot of goals left to achieve. Friday, Oct. 20, we travel to Fort Calhoun to take on a good Pioneer team. This is a huge game for us to keep momentum heading into the postseason and also in terms of playoff seeding.”
