Bulldog Girls Lose at Lourdes Central Catholic; Crush JCC

The Auburn Bulldogs girls’ basketball team split games Thursday and Friday night, Jan. 19 and 20. Auburn took a 14-2 record into its Tuesday, Jan. 24, home contest with Louisville.

Jan. 19, the Auburn girls dropped a 33-38 decision at Lourdes Central Catholic. It was only Auburn’s second loss of the season after 13 consecutive wins. The Knights raised their season mark to 10-5.

The Bulldog girls bounced back to rout Johnson County Central 75-27 at Tecumseh. The Thunderbirds dropped to 3-10.

“We struggled with their size inside and Laura Box did a nice job of finishing inside. We know because of our size that we have to put better pressure on the perimeter passers and not allow easy looks into the post,” Bulldogs Coach Derek Bissitt commented.
