Bulldog Girls Lose at Irish, Win at Nebraska City Pioneers Last Week

The Auburn High School girls basketball team saw its perfect record snapped by Falls City Sacred Heart on Jan. 19 in a 27-62 loss to the also unbeaten Irish. The Bulldogs’ record fell to 13-1, while the home team improved to 16-0.

Sacred Heart took a 16-12 lead after one quarter and then proceeded to pull away the rest of the game. The Irish outscored Auburn 13 to 2 in the second quarter, 13 to 9 in the third and 20 to 4 in the final period.

Melody Billings led the Bulldogs with 13 points. Others scoring were Jaeleigh Darnell with 4 points; Olivia Swanson, Sydney Binder and Zoe Baltensperger 3; and Jamisyn Kirkpatrick 1.
