Bulldog Girls Basketball Team Won Twice Last Week; C1-1 Subdistrict Tourney Underway

The Auburn High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team improved to 18-4 with a 56-45 win at Syracuse on Feb. 7. The Bulldogs utilized a pressing defense to force 29 turnovers, including stealing the ball 20 times. Auburn turned the ball over just 12 times, but was outrebounded 26 to 10.
Coach Derek Bissitt said, “We played a pretty solid game and shot the ball well. They had a good run at us in the fourth quarter to cut our lead to 4 points, but we responded by hitting 8-10 free throws down the stretch. I really liked our composure to have everyone on the floor step up to the line and hit clutch free throws. It showed great growth and maturity for our young team.”
