Bulldog Boys Split Games with Ashland-Greenwood, Nebraska City

Auburn High School boys received their first loss last week at the hands of conference opponent Ashland-Greenwood 59-56 in overtime, but bounced back with a 69-49 win over Nebraska City.

The Bulldogs came into the week hot off a 9-0 start, and a Nebraska Wesleyan Holiday Tournament championship. The Bulldogs are led by sophomore Cam Binder, who averages 22.3 points a game, along with junior center Josh Lambert, who contributes 17.4 points, and 6.7 rebounds a game.

Heading into the Jan. 2 game, the Bluejays of Ashland-Greenwood held a 6-2 record with losses only to Milford and Omaha Roncalli. The Bluejays focused early on stopping Binder and Lambert in an attempt to limit their impact on the game, but Lambert led the scoring effort in the first half. With six layups, plus a free throw, Lambert’s 13 points pushed the Bulldogs ahead of the Bluejays 25-22 at halftime
