Bulldog Baseball Romps 20-7 at Doniphan West
The Auburn Bulldog baseball team lost four of five games during the opening week of April. The Bulldogs are 2-5 on the season. Monday, April 1, Auburn lost 2-9 to Branched Oak at Malcolm. Branched Oak is a cooperative of Raymond Central and Malcolm. The Bulldogs bounced back Tuesday, April 2, crushing Doniphan West 20-7 in 5 innings. Thursday, April 4, Auburn lost 2-8 at Crete. In their first Tushla Field action of 2019, Auburn lost 0-8 and 3-18 in 6 innings to Omaha Central.
Branched Oak Game
After Branched Oak scored in its half of the second, the Bulldogs scored twice in the third. With one out, Brody Darnell doubled, advancing to third on a groundout before scoring on a single by Branden Lavigne. Lavigne subsequently crossed the plate on a passed ball. Branched Oak regained the lead with 2 third inning runs, adding runs in each succeeding inning. Trevor Dickerson and Kyson Warner led Auburn at bat with two hits apiece. Warner had a double. Also hitting safely were Brad Hall and Liam Raison.
