Auburn Girls Defeat Bluejays and Pioneers
The Auburn Bulldogs girls’ basketball team was 9-3 entering its Tuesday, Jan. 8 contest at Falls City.
Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 2, Auburn downed Ashland-Greenwood 46-30 at home. Saturday afternoon, Jan. 5, the Bulldogs traveled to Nebraska City coming away with a 42-29 triumph.

Leading Auburn on the scoreboard were Sydnie Reeves with 19 points followed by Ashley Teten with 15. Reeves was 6 of 8 from the free throw line with Teten connecting on a trio of 3-pointers.
Rounding out the scoring were: Addie Gyhra 6; Emma Goering 4 and Mollie Grant 2. The Bulldogs shot 42.9 percent from 2-point range making 9 of 21. From beyond the arc, Auburn hit 6 of 20, 30 percent while successful on 10 of 15 free throws, 66.7 percent. Fifteen Bulldog points came off turnovers.
