Auburn Airstream Juniors Split Area Tournament Games

The Auburn Airstream Juniors American Legion baseball team went 1-1 in the opening weekend of the area tournament at Nebraska City.

Late Friday afternoon, July 9, the Juniors blasted Falls City 10-3. The host team nipped Auburn 10-9 Sunday night, July 11. The Juniors are 13-14 on the season. Auburn played Plattsmouth Monday night, July 12 in an elimination game.

Falls City Game

Airstream Juniors racked up 16 hits limiting Falls City to 5. After Falls City scored twice in its initial at bat, Auburn cut its deficit to 1-2 in the bottom of the first. Falls City led 3-1 in the third before the locals tied the score in the bottom of the frame. Airstream Juniors tallied 3 times each in the fourth and fifth innings.
