2020-21 Peru State Men’s Basketball Enters Second Month

2020-21 Peru State Men’s Basketball Enters Second Month

There is probably a bigger question than who is returning and who has been recruited for the Peru State men’s basketball season outlook.

That question would be how the COVID-19 pandemic is going to affect the team and its season. While reviewing how the fall sports have been impacted, it is with somewhat certainty that the coronavirus will have an effect. Plus, it already has in terms of the schedule as not only has the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) made some revisions, but many surrounding athletic conferences have done so as well.

The team, in head coach Bob Ludwig’s fourth season at the helm, does have some rebuilding to do in comparison to previous seasons. However, the expectation for team success does not change.

After making it to the national tournament the first two seasons, the Bobcats fell short last year after finishing with a 17-15 overall record. In the Heart, the ‘Cats finished with a 15-9 mark which placed them third in the Heart North. This was considered a success as the team was hit hard by injuries.
