SUE ANN (MOORE) COWAN

Sue Ann (Moore) Cowan, the youngest of three daughters of Robert Cletis and Mildred A. (Williams) Moore, was born May 3, 1951 at Tushla Hospital in Auburn, Nebraska. Sue received her early education at Brownville School District 34 through 8th grade and graduated from Auburn High School in 1969.

EDWIN “ED” PLAGER

Edwin Arnold Plager, one of three children of Eli and Lydia (Borrenpohl) Plager, was born February 19, 1935 on the family farm in rural Nemaha County near Humboldt, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran (Long Branch) Church. Ed attended Greenfield School just up the road from his home and Johnson High School in Johnson, Nebraska.

WILLIAM “RAY” DOUGLAS

WILLIAM “RAY” DOUGLAS

William “Ray” Douglas, 91, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on April 20, 1929, in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Leila Buchanan McCue and J. Homer McCue. Ray’s father died when he was 8 years old and later on his mother, Leila married Munson Douglas of Tecumseh and was adopted by Munson. Ray graduated from Tecumseh High School with the class of 1948. On January 3, 1949, Ray was united in marriage to Joan Louise Kerner at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Tecumseh. To this union three children—Bev, Cathy and Bill were born.

WARREN L. WILLS

Warren L. Wills, the youngest of three children of William “Bill” and Wilma (Payne) Wills, was born March 16, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska. He then grew up and attended grade school in Omaha and he graduated from Omaha Westside High School in 1980. Following high school, Warren attended a trade school where he was trained in operating heavy machinery and got his CDL.

DIANA LYNN PENTON

Diana Lynn Penton, age 64 of Nebraska City died July 22, 2020 at her home. Diana was born July 23, 1955 in Brush, Colorado, the daughter of Harold Eugene and Leta Nadine (Brunker) Douglas. She married Donald Penton on June 12, 1976 in Denver, Colo. Diana formerly lived in Commerce City, Thornton and Denver, Colo., and Auburn, Nebraska before moving to Nebraska City seven years ago.
