MARLIN G. PECK

Marlin Glenn Peck was the first child born to Glenn and Leta (Schulenburg) Peck on March 18, 1934 in Morrill, Kansas. They later moved to the family farm south of Barada were Marlin grew up and became the fourth generation to live on the farm deemed Peckville and work the land. He met his future wife, Lois Kirkendall, in confirmation class at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. They married in 1956 and unto this union were born four children: Patrice, Anita, Lisa and Marlin Jr. (Marti). Lois passed away in 2002. Marlin would talk fondly of her to everyone who would listen referring to her always as “the love of my life”.

LOUISE M. NELSON

LOUISE M. NELSON

Louise Mae Nelson, 98, formerly of Stella, Nebraska was born on June 5, 1921 in Bostwick, Nebraska to Henry and Josephine (Garver) Jacobitz. Louise grew up in Nelson, Nebraska where she received her schooling and graduated from Nelson High School. She was united in marriage to Carl Timmerman and to this union two children, Bill and Mary were born. After Carl’s passing in 1979, Louise was later married to Arthur Nelson. She lived in Stella, Nebraska for many years where she worked as a cook at the school and was a member of the Grace Bible Church. Louise went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 22, 2020, passing away at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of 98 years, nine months and 17 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Carl Timmerman and Arthur Nel son, a brother Norman “Bud” (Lillian) Jacobitz and sisters: Helen (Orville) Teselle, Betty (Earl) Adamson and Shirley (Ted) Lyons.

LAURETTA “LAURIE” KAYE (VINSON) ANDERSON

Lauretta “Laurie” Kaye (Vinson) Anderson, 61, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on November 13, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska to James W. and Connie L. (Trosper) Vinson. She was raised in Nemaha and attended school K-12th in Stella at Southeast Consolidated Schools. Laurie graduated from Southeast Consolidated High School with the class of 1975. On March 27, 1976, Laurie was united in marriage to Lee Anderson in Nemaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home near Humboldt, where they raised their family. Laurie worked as a nurse’s aide at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn until retiring from nursing.

ERVIN F. GOBBER

Ervin F. Gobber, the youngest of four children of Fred and Christena (Knippelmeyer) Gobber, was born May 16, 1930 on the family farm near Elk Creek. He was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran (Long Branch) Church. Ervin walked across the road to the “Rock School House” (District 45) for his education to 8th grade. Ervin furthered his education through personal experiences, and continual reading in his areas of interest.

LOIS E. BOHLKEN

Lois Elaine (Marshall) Bohlken, daughter of George and Rosena Wilhelmine (Badberg) Marshall, was born March 10, 1930 at home on the family farm in Johnson County, Nebraska. She was one of eight children born to this marriage. Lois attended rural school at spring Creek School and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1947. After high school Lois moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and worked at the Elgin Watch Factory.
