My Wife, Chris, and I were talking about being near the end and how maybe I should write my own obituary. People wouldn’t feel as though they had to make up something nice. Also, how often do you get the chance to write your own obituary. I did have to promise no cussing or married jokes.

MEGAN C. McCONNAUGHEY

Megan, a member of St. Clara’s Catholic Church, Peru, Nebraska, spent much of her life praying and thinking of others. Her emotional and spiritual strength were unwavering. She was a person of faith, and that warrior spirit afforded her 14 additional years after her diagnosis of brain and spine cancer at the tender age of 8 when the best outcome was a 20% chance to see 5 years of additional life.

SHIRLEY A. WILBERGER

Shirley Ann Wilberger, daughter of Robert and Alma (Harms) Shanks, was born February 7, 1926, at Bayard, Nebraska. Shirley began her schooling at Bayard, and then attended school at Auburn, Nebraska after her family moved when she was in the 5th grade. Shirley graduated from Auburn High School in 1943, and then attended Lincoln School of Commerce.

SUSAN KAY MARBURGER

Susan Kay Marburger, 76, loving mother of four was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Susan was born on November 24, 1945 at the Oakland Community Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska to Myron and Adelyn (Johnson) Jacobson. She was raised on the family farm outside Oakland along with her older brother, Wayne. As a child, she enjoyed helping her father with the cattle, cooking with her mother, and raising kittens in the loft of the hay barn.
