MARJORIE E. “MARGE” RASMUSSEN

Marjorie E. Rasmussen, 91, of Johnson, passed away on March 30, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Center in Auburn, Nebraska. She was born to Albert and Annie (Churches) Modlin on September 3, 1930 on the farm near Tekamah, Nebraska. She was one of nine children born to this union. Marge graduated from Rosalie High School in 1947.

JASON C. FREDE

Jason Charles Frede, the son of Ronald Gene and Merrily Ann (Ryder) Frede, was born September 5, 1980, in Redwood City, California. Jason attended Woodside High School, Woodside, California. He then attended various California community colleges before attending Peru State College, Peru, Nebraska. Jason graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2018 and was currently working towards his Master’s degree. Jason served in the United States Navy during the 2005 defensive era.

KEN R. JENKINS

Kenneth Ray Jenkins, one of four sons of Riley and Doris (Edwards) Jenkins, was born May 24, 1939, at Auburn, Nebraska. Ken attended school at Auburn through junior high, and then at Tecumseh through the 11th grade. Ken later earned his GED while in Lincoln.

BONNIE BELLE (BALKE) ROLENDER

Bonnie Belle (Balke) Roleder, 92, of Lincoln, Nebraska was born on August 20, 1929, on the family farm near Johnson, Nebraska. She was one of four children born to Rohland and Emma (Rohrs) Balke. Bonnie was baptized into the Lutheran faith at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Johnson and confirmed at age 12. She grew up in the Johnson, Auburn and Adams, Nebraska communities. Bonnie graduated from Adams High School in 1946 and received a Regents Scholarship.

My Wife, Chris, and I were talking about being near the end and how maybe I should write my own obituary. People wouldn’t feel as though they had to make up something nice. Also, how often do you get the chance to write your own obituary. I did have to promise no cussing or married jokes.
