JoLene Downing, age 77 of Peru died June 20, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Center in Auburn. Jolene was born December 13, 1944 in Peru, the daughter of Joe and Ardella (Hays) Railsback. She married Marvin R. Downing July 22, 1964 in Riverside, CA. Marvin died April 22, 2013. Jolene lived in Riverside, CA and Las Vegas, NV before moving to Peru in 1994.
Richard “Dick” V. Wheeler Jr., 93, of Hamburg, Iowa formerly of Shubert, Nebraska was born on November 25, 1928, in rural Howe, Nebraska to Richard V. Sr. and Helen (Andrew) Wheeler. He was raised with his family near Stella where he attended school and graduated from Stella High School.
Jackie Sue (Baker) Williams, one of two daughters of Carl and Janet Lee (Storant) Baker, was born February 8, 1958, at Falls City, Nebraska. Jackie grew up in rural southeast Nebraska, she was baptized, attended Sunday School, and sang in the choir at the Nemaha Christian Church. Jackie attended school in Stella, graduating with the class of 1976 from Southeast Consolidated Schools.
Clarence Herbert Lash, son of Clarence and Fern (Jones) Lash, was born December 21, 1924, in Auburn, Nebraska. Herb grew up on the family farm; attended Fairview Rural School through 8th grade; and graduated Auburn High School in 1942.
