Vonne Lee Fugate

Vonne Lee Fugate, age 67, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020. She was born Oct. 12, 1952 to Lyle and Wilma Gilliland at Humboldt. She grew up on a farm near Humboldt and was active in 4-H, winning numerous state awards. In 1971 she graduated from Southeast Consolidated High School. Fugate became a registered nurse upon graduating from Nebraska Methodist College in Omaha in 1974. She earned her AAPC certification as a medical certified professional coder in 2017.

Fugate devoted much of her life to her family, including homeschooling each of her children. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren also giving of herself caring for many others. Fugate’s special interests and hobbies included music, gardening, alternative medicine and crafts.

Preceding her were her parents and parents-in-law.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Robert; their four children and spouses, Derek and Talitha, Joshua and Angela, Joseph and Deborah and Cherie and Joel Kayser; 12 grandchildren; brother, Lonn Gilliland of Nixon, Mo.; and sisters Sonia Kistner of Auburn and Tonia Rexroth of Littleton, Colo.

Memorial service was Saturday, Feb. 15.
