VINCENT JEAN-LOUIS NICKERSON

2019

God called little Vincent Jean-Louis Nickerson to Him on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Although he was among us for less than 24 hours, he was deeply loved. We prayed for a miracle and God said “no” yet in His grace He blessed us all in the midst of our loss with the amazing support of love and prayer from family, friends, and even strangers, friends of friends, as there were people from the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, as well as from other nationalities, Swiss, Venezuelan, Burkinabe (Burkina Faso), and Moroccan united with us in prayer and we felt like a veritable galaxy of brothers and sisters in Christ were with us, and that was a miracle indeed.

Vincent was the son of Alexander and Roxanne Nickerson of Auburn and the brother of one-year old Sorin Stewart Nickerson. Grandparents are Bliane and Kristel Nickerson of Crocket, California, Preston and Sylvie Shires of Peru, great-grandparents Robert and Judy Paul of Hamilton, Montana, Robert and Beth Meneely of Sacramento, California, Gene and Connie Poole of Morgantown, Kentucky, Carol Nickerson of Patagonia, Arizona, uncles and aunts Fletcher and Tammy Shires of Auburn, Hudson and Kristina Shires of France, Hanna Nickerson of California, Sheldon Shires of Peru, and cousins Kadyn, Kaliantha, Karik, Korbyn, Hero, Halwyn, Holden, and Haisley Shires.

Vincent was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Orlin and Helen Louise Shires, Jean-Louis and Simonne Roche, and Jack Nickerson.

Pastor and friend of the family Dr. Norman Anderson conducted the funeral service in the Bethel Community Church. Vincent’s earthly resting place is at the Nemaha Cemetery, near to his great-grandparents Orlin and Helen Louise Shires.

The family wishes to express its appreciation for the people at Hemmingsen Funeral Home for their kindness and understanding and its gratitude to the congregation of Bethel Church for generously granting us the use of their church, which was a family place of worship for several generations.

Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
