UNA FAYE “UNI” LYONS

1940-2020

Una Faye Robbins Lyons, one of three children of Virgil Robbins, Sr. and Lalla (Cogdill) Robbins, was born October 2, 1940 in Brownville, Nebraska. She grew up and attended school in Brownville.

Una Faye was married to Robert Hutton and the union was blessed with a daughter, Robin. The couple later divorced.

She had various work interests throughout her life. Una Faye had done cleaning at motels in the area. She worked at her parents’ bar and grill The Candy Kitchen and Speck Clark’s Whiskey Run in Auburn. She also owned and operated the Brock Lyon’s Den in Brock, Nebraska.

Una Faye was baptized recently by Rev. Corey Miller. She had belonged to the Auburn Eagles and Auburn Legion Auxiliary. Uni loved the farm and the animals on the farm and loved to garden. She also enjoyed going to dances in the area.

As a result of her failing health Una Faye became a resident of Falls City Nursing and Rehabilitation in Falls City, Nebraska. She passed away there on Saturday, December 26, 2020 having reached the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 24 days. In addition to her parents, Uni was preceded in death by her son-in-law Randy Sudman, sister and brother-in-law Marie and Harold Dean King, sister-in-law Janie Robbins, and special friend Joanie Sweet.

Una Faye’s passing is mourned by her daughter Robin Sudman of Nemaha; grandchildren Shane and wife Tandra Sudman of Plattsmouth, Shannon Snyder and significant other Charlie Henley of Gretna, Shauna Betts of Auburn; great-grandchildren Courtney, Kaitlyn, Haley, Waylon, Lauren, Braydon, Kyran, Sawyer, Riley, Rianna, Layla, Treytin; brother Virgil Robbins, Jr. of Brownville; special friend JoJo Boswick; beloved dog Bella; special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held Monday, January 4, 2021, at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, officiated by Rev. Corey Miller. Linda Carder and Wanda King were urn bearers, and John King, Duane King, Jim Robbins, and Joe Robbins served as honorary bearers. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Brownville.

Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
