PATRICIA S. BRATCHER

1948-2017

Patricia Sue (Smith) Bratcher, 68, of Brownville, Nebraska was born October 15, 1948, in Columbus, Nebraska to George E. and Nolma E. (Lucht) Smith. She began her schooling in Columbus before completing 5th and 6th grade in Bellevue. Patricia then attended junior and senior high school in Ralston graduating from Ralston High School with the class of 1966. On August 16, 1968, Patricia was united in marriage to John L. Bratcher in Papillion, Nebr. To this union a daughter, Elizabeth, was born. Patricia and John raised their daughter in Brownville where Patricia was active in many local organizations. She was a member of the Brownville Christian Church, Walnut Grove Cemetery, Bluebirds Across Nebraska, and a former member of the Brownville Order of Eastern Star. She and John became residents of the Good Samaritan Society later in life when their heath began to decline. Patricia passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebr. having reached the earthly age of 68 years, eight months, and 12 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Richard, Rodney, and David Smith, and an infant daughter. Patricia is survived by her loving daughter Elizabeth Youngs and her wife Angela Laing of Brownville, Neb.; granddaughters: Alyssa Youngs, Lilith Laing, and Viviane Laing all of Brownville; brothers: Jack Smith and his wife Jean of Spring Lake, N.C.; Ken Smith and his wife Sheryl of Omaha, Neb.; Steve Smith of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister Debra Russell-Wright and her husband Donald of Brownville; sisters-in-law: Pam Smith of LaVista, Neb.; Darla Smith of Omaha and Elaine Smith of Omaha; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the First Christian Church in Brownville with Pastor Robert Chitwood officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to donor’s choice with a later designation.
