JACK J. BOHLKEN

Jack Jacob Bohlken, age 91 of Nebraska City died September 23, 2017 at CHI St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City. Jack was born June 5, 1926 in Talmage, the son of Jacob and Theresa (Wimberger) Bohlken. Jack graduated from the Talmage High School in 1944. He married Barbara Ann Morton on April 2, 1947 in Hiawatha, Kansas. He formerly lived in Talmage and Auburn before moving to Nebraska City in 1997. Jack and his wife, Barbara owned and operated Bohlken TV and Appliance in Auburn for many years and they were members of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. He loved traveling and visiting family and friends. Survivors include his wife Barbara of Nebraska City; sons, Jack A. Bohlken and wife Lily of Ooltewah, Tennessee and Michael B. Bohlken and wife Joan of Frisco, Texas; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Robert Bohlken and wife Mary of Maryville, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ivan Bohlken. Funeral services were Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with burial in Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City. Memorials are suggested to Nebraska City Fire – E.M.S.
