HARRY E. TYSON

1935-2020

Harry Eugene Tyson, 84, of Nemaha, Nebraska was born on May 8, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska to Harry and Ethel (Welcox) Tyson. He was raised with his parents in Nebraska City where Harry attended school and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the class of 1952.

Harry enlisted in the United States Air Force in Nebraska City and entered active duty on January 31, 1957. He served his country in active duty for 23 years before retiring in Colorado Springs, Colorado as Staff Sergeant on November 30, 1979. Harry then served in the Air Force Reserves until January 31, 1987.

On November 4, 1994, Harry was united in marriage to Darla (Smiley) Eacret at the Lutheran Church in Wymore, Nebraska. The couple moved Nemaha, Nebraska where they have lived and enjoyed time together. Harry enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his 1950 Buick and going with Darla to area car shows to show the Buick off.

Harry passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at his home in Nemaha, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of 84 years, 11 months and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Teresa Tyson, son Timothy Tyson, step-son William Eacret and son-in-law Donald Dahlsten.

Harry is survived by his loving wife Darla Tyson of Nemaha; children: Francis Tyson of Rapid City, S.D.; Tammy Ryan and husband Forester of Arkansas; Tracy Shelly and husband Leslie of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania; Heather Dahlsten of Ericson, Neb.; Terri Tyson of Colorado; Jason Tyson of Arkansas; Robert Eacret of Nebraska City, Neb.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020, at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska with Pastor Terry Weible officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard. Pallbearers for Harry’s service will be Tyler Eacret, Andrew Eacret, Jared Swank and Ty Anderson.
