GLENDOLYN G. (ALLGOOD) BANTZ

1944-2017

Gail Allgood Bantz, daughter of Cleo “Buck” and Athalene “Teet” (Stephens) Allgood, was born March 26, 1944 in Peru, Nebraska. Glenny attended Auburn High School. On December 8, 1962, Glenny was united in marriage to Clinton Sears Bantz in Auburn in the home of Rev. Keifer. They made their home on a farm south of Auburn, and were blessed with two daughters, Genie and Rhonda. Glenny was the ultimate farm wife. In addition to raising the girls and running the household, she made sure Clinton and any hands on the farm always had meals, whether that be in the house or in the field, and any time of day or night. Glenny was very creative and artistic. She completed many paintings on canvas, and was especially talented at decorating denim jackets. She loved to spend time with the grandchildren, and loved to have them spend the night with her. After Clinton passed away on July 25, 2012, Glenny continued to live on the farm until 2016, when she bought and moved to a house in Auburn. Her health was declining, and she eventually became homebound. With the help of her family and others, she was able to stay in her home. It was there she passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 24 days. In addition to her husband Clinton, Glenny was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson. Glenny is survived by her daughters Genie and husband Steve Boden of Auburn; Rhonda Yoesel of Auburn; grandchildren Chris Lundy and fiancée Erin Jacobs, Matt Lundy, Luke Lundy, Quintin Boden, Nadine Yoesel and Sadie Yoesel; great-granddaughters Lexi, Brooklyn and Lillie Ann Rose; brother Steve Allgood and close family friend Roberta Smith of Falls City; nephew Geoffrey Allgood Taylor; and other relatives and friends. A funeral service was held Sunday, June 25, at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, officiated by Rev. Ken Miller. Casket bearers were Steve Allgood, Geoffrey Allgood Taylor, Van Allen, Ron Perry, Bob Sailors and Tim Pugh. Burial was in Bedford Cemetery at Howe. Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
