FERIDA MARIE MUSE

1952-2022

Ferida Marie Muse, daughter of Richard and Shirley (Ballard) Young, was born February 22, 1952, at Norwalk, California. Ferida grew up and attended school in Southern California, graduating from Tustin High School in 1970.

On October 31, 1970, Ferida was united in marriage to David Muse. The couple would be blessed with three daughters: Missi, Lisa, and Becky. They first made their home in Southern California, but moved their family to Auburn, Nebraska in 1979. Ferida held various jobs throughout the years, one of her favorites being a stay-athome mom and raising her three girls. A majority of her working career, however, was spent working with special needs adults and children, a job she loved dearly. Ferida was a member of the Eagles Club in Auburn, she was a social butterfly and enjoyed having a good time with her friends, whom she loved dearly. Ferida also loved to bowl and play cards, especially pitch at the Legion Club in Auburn. Her biggest love in life were her children and grandchildren.

After a decline in health, Ferida moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, and it is there that she passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, having reached the age of 70 years, 8 months, and 3 days. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Young; brothers Chuck Young and Jack Freeland; and Charles Freeland, Sr.

Those left to remember her caring ways include her daughters Missi and husband Mike Beck of Palmer, Lisa Muse and fiancé Darwin McCollum of Auburn, Becky and husband Nathaniel Bentzinger of Carter Lake, IA; grandchildren Lynn Muse, Dylan Muse, Andrew Yates, Haley Burbee, Shelby Burbee, Natalie Reichert, Moxon Bentzinger, Mason Reichert, Huxley Bentzinger, Lauren Reichert, Adalynn Bentzinger; 3 great-grandchildren; mother Shirley Young of Santa Ana, CA; brothers Charles (Jenny) Freeland and Joe Freeland both of Minnesota; previous spouse David (Pam) Muse of Auburn; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service, officiated by Lori Gottula, was held Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Honorary bearers were Haley Burbee, Shelby Burbee, Natalie Reichert, Moxon Bentzinger, Mason Reichert, Huxley Bentzinger, Lauren Reichert, and Adalynn Bentzinger.

Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
