DR. RICHARD PENNEY

Dr. Richard Penney, 72, a nine-year resident of Surprise, Arizona, passed away there on March 30, 2017. He was born 11-21-1944 in Nebraska to Merrill and Estelle Penney. Rick spent his childhood in Hastings Neb., where he graduated from both Hastings High School and Hastings College before entering the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry, where he earned his doctorate in dentistry. He practiced in Nebraska for 22 years prior to heading west, and eventually moved to Shelton, Washington, where he practiced until his retirement in 2004. He and his wife of 49 years, Sue, enjoyed their retirement traveling extensively throughout the United States in their motor home, spending time with their children and grandchildren on the east coast and camping with Sue’s family. Rick is survived by his wife Sue, his daughter Laura Shamir (Dan), his son Michael Penney, granddaughter Ryan Shamir, grandson Dashel Shamir, and by his brother James Penney. A family celebration of life is planned for this summer in the Grand Tetons National Park.
