DENNIS OBERMEYER

Dennis, Dad, Grandpa, Obee, Denny, Mr. Dr. O, 70, a retired Friends University Professor, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019.

Dennis attended Fairview School, graduated from Auburn High School in 1966 and from Peru State College in 1970.

Dennis was the consummate farmer, educator and coach whose commitment to excellence and love of family both touched and positively changed many lives. After the fields in eastern Nebraska, he continued to nourish the success of countless students and athletes at all levels of education including six colleges and universities, three high schools, one elementary school and his own extended household for over four decades.

Beyond his passion for Physical Education and football what he held closest to his heart was his eternal love and devotion to his wife, family and country.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; Carole. Sons: Brice and Wade (Huntley) Obermeyer. Grandchildren: Cory, Kyle, Amber and Emory. Siblings: Gary (Kate) Obermeyer, Daryl (Jackie) Obermeyer, Gloria (Jeff) Jensen and Lisa (Kris) Kirby.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Baker Funeral Home--Wichita Chapel.
