DAVID M. NEDDENRIEP
1956-2023
David Martin Neddenriep, one of four children of Glen and Eileen (Ottersberg) Neddenriep, was born June 23, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was baptized, confirmed, and remained a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church near Johnson, Nebraska. Growing up on a farm near Brock, Nebraska, Dave attended school at Brock and graduated from Johnson-Brock High School in 1974. He remained a resident of rural Brock his entire life.
Dave absolutely loved farming, starting out with his father, and continuing to farm after his dad retired. Carrying on the tradition he grew up with, Dave was a true “steward of the land”. His love for rural Nebraska extended beyond his farm, as he enjoyed traveling throughout the state and taking in the sights and farming techniques in other rural areas.
Nebraska’s people, land, and way of life were ingrained in Dave and his demeanor.
He also loved Husker sports and was a sports fanatic in general. Millard West football held a special place in his heart as he watched his nephew coach the team through the years. An outdoor type, Dave enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing.
As health issues grew, Dave was admitted to CHI Health Bergan Mercy in Omaha. He passed away there on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 18 days. His parents Glen and Eileen and sister-in-law Marcia preceded him in death.
Those left to remember Dave with love include his brothers and sister-in-law Gary Neddenriep of Libertyville, IL, Gene and Rita Neddenriep of Lincoln; sister and brother-inlaw Elaine and Ron Peterson of Omaha; nephews and nieces Greg (Christine) Neddenriep, Gretchen (JR Bonnet) Neddenriep, Kirk (Angie) Peterson, Carrie (Kyle) Corcoran, Craig Neddenriep, and Jill (Seth) Nieuwenhuis; 10 great-nieces and -nephews; Aunt Lora Neddenriep of Johnson; best friend Rodney (Teri) Nincehelser of Syracuse; other relatives and many friends.
A graveside memorial service will be Saturday, January 21, 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Cemetery north of Johnson, NE. Family and friends will meet in Zion Church fellowship hall prior to the service and progress to the cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Zion Lutheran Cemetery Association.
Services are entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
