DARLENE ROSE (KOLACNY) WARNICK

May 3, 1944 ~ November 30, 2021 (age 77)

Darlene Rose (Kolacny) Warnick, 77, formerly of Table Rock, Nebraska was born on May 3, 1944, in Table Rock, Nebraska to John and Ollie (Davison) Kolacny. She was raised in Table Rock where she attended school and graduated from Table Rock High School with the class of 1962.

On June 29, 1963, Darlene was united in marriage to Gary Warnick at the Christian Church in Chariton, Iowa. To this union two daughters, Mary and Brenda were born. The couple raised their family in Table Rock. In 1985, Darlene continued her education at Peru State College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Special Education. She then worked for many years as a nurse’s aid at the Beatrice State Developmental Center where her sister Helen Mae was a resident. Darlene was very dedicated to her sister, making sure to spend time and feed her lunch every time she was at work.

Darlene was always active in her Table Rock community where she lived most of her life. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church where she served as President of the United Methodist Women for many years. Darlene and Gary moved to Auburn later in life to be closer to their daughter Mary. Darlene passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of 77 years, six months and 27 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Helen Mae Kolacny and brother-in-law Edwin Warnick.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband Gary Warnick of Auburn; daughters: Mary Comstock and husband Mike of Auburn; Brenda Greaves of Leavenworth, Kan.; grandchildren: Kerri Wilson and husband Joel of Auburn; Brent Comstock of Lincoln, Neb.; Penny Barrentine of Macon, Geogia; Amber Duda of Statenville, G; Jessica Duda of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Amanda Dilks and husband James of Leavenworth, Kan.; Katherine Ramsey and husband John of Lincoln; Aaron Jantzen of Beatrice; Angel Nelsen of Lincoln; numerous great-grand children; her sister Yvonne Grable of Nebraska City, Neb.; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Table Rock, with Pastor Dorothy Smith officiating.

Interment immediately followed services at the Table Rock Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Table Rock United Methodist Church or Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn.
