CODY N. PROSSER
Cody Nicholas Prosser, one of two sons of Esther (Adams) Prosser and David Fender, was born August 25, 1987, in Aurora, Nebraska. As a young boy, Cody moved with his mother to Nemaha County, Nebraska where he attended school at Johnson-Brock Public Schools and Auburn Public Schools, graduating from Auburn High School in 2005.
After graduating from high school, Cody moved out to Vermont to work on a dairy farm, a job that he loved. When his work was done on the dairy farm, Cody bought a truck and headed back to Nebraska. Back in Nebraska, Cody held various jobs, he worked for Randall Smith doing odd jobs from securing pieces of equipment to patching holes down in the hull of one of his boats. He worked construction in Nebraska City and for OPPD. In Auburn, Cody worked for OK Tire and SunMart, and most recently he worked at American Meter back in Nebraska City.
On August 13, 2009, Cody was united in marriage to Hannah Holthus in Auburn. The couple would be blessed with three children: Karlito, Draven, and Keira.
Cody was a member of New Life Church in Auburn. He was baptized and confirmed by Pastor Mark TeVogt. Cody was the type of person always willing to help others, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was an excellent mechanic and good with his hands, able to fix just about anything. He enjoyed wood carving, gardening, and hiking. Cody was a devoted husband, father, and son, and loved his children dearly.
On the morning of Sunday, March 22, 2020, Cody passed away unexpectedly at his home in Auburn, having reached the age of 32 years, 6 months, and 26 days. He was preceded in death by an unborn child; brother Thomas Adams; father-and mother-in-law Arlan and Merry Holthus; grandparents Otis and Mamie Adams, Alvin Holthus; and uncle Jim Gibbs.
Those left to mourn Cody’s passing include his wife Hannah of Auburn; children Karlito “K.J.”, Draven, Keira; parents Esther Prosser and David Fender of Nemaha; brother-in-law Chris Gibbs (Jamie Sherman); sister-in-law Sarah Archimedes (Nate); grandma Angela Holthus; uncles and aunts Estelle and Robert Conn, Linda and Gerald Cook, Tim Holthus, Ron and Ruth Gibbs; nieces and nephews Aaron, Sammy, Faith, and Becca Adams, BreeAnna Gibbs; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, with burial of ashes to follow in Sheridan West Cemetery near Auburn.
