CHARLIE BLANKENSHIP

Charles Anthony Blankenship, son of Larry D. and Rena (Boss) Blankenship, was born February 5, 1993 in Brighton, Colorado. He attended elementary school at Southeast Nebraska Consolidated Schools in Stella, Nebraska, and then went to Freeman Public School in Adams, Neb. As a young man in Boy Scouts, Charlie came very close to becoming and Eagle Scout, but aged out of Scouting before he could complete all the requirements. Charlie was a carpenter by trade, and belonged to Carpenter’s Union Local #1055 in Lincoln, Neb. Most of the jobs he worked on were in Lincoln or Omaha. His interest in carpentry led to a love of woodworking and building things. Charlie had other interests as well, including hunting and gaming. His nieces and nephews loved him, and he loved them right back. Charlie was a good listener, and was always looking to help others. He was a quiet man, and had an intellectual way of thinking. On Wednesday, May 24, 2017, Charlie passed away very unexpectedly near Auburn, Neb. He was 24 years, 3 months, and 19 days old. His father Larry, nephew Logan, and grandparents Merrill Blankenship, Tony Boss, and Virginia Seyb preceded him in death. Those left to remember his loving ways include his mother Rena of Scottsbluff; sisters and brothersin- law Misty and James Reeder of Cottonwood, Calif.; Tricia and Nick Breazile of Auburn; Kristi and Bryce Aldridge of Lincoln; Candace and Adam Lohman of Lincoln; nieces and nephews; grandfather Charles Blankenship of Auburn; his dog Jack; other relatives and many friends. A private family burial of ashes was held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Peru. Memorials are suggested to family choice in care of the funeral home. Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
