CECILIA E. DOMINO

Cecilia Eleanor Domino (Zahorsky) was born August 29, 1928 in Hunter Township of Jackson County, Minnesota. In her teen years Cecilia moved to Jackson, Minnesota where she was employed at People’s Natural Gas Company.

She met Robert Neil Domino and they were married July 18, 1949.

In 1951, they relocated to Minot, North Dakota where Robert worked as a Fireman and Engineer for Great Northern Railroad. Cecilia was employed as a Bookkeeper for a local clothing store and a Waitress at the Elks Lodge. Upon retirement, they moved back to Minnesota. They spent summers in Minnesota and winters in Mesa, Arizona. A few years following Robert’s death in 2000, Cecilia decided to become a year-round resident of Mesa. In 2018, Cecilia relocated to Auburn, Nebraska to live with her son Jeffrey and his wife Joni.

Cecilia loved to read, cook, sew, and play solitaire and Bingo. She always had a fresh batch of Sugar Cookies waiting for those who came to visit. Cecilia was always busy doing something. This was the secret to her longevity.

Cecilia and Robert were blessed with seven children: Michael Domino (Linda), Southe Douglas Domino (Paula), Lowell Domino, Luella Thomas, Curtis Domino (Donata), Jeffrey Domino (Joni) and Pamela Riely (Kevin). Cecilia had 14 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandson.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2020 Cecilia passed away at the home of her son Jeffrey in Auburn, Nebraska. Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Henry Zahorsky and Antonia (Soukup), husband Robert, daughter Luella and son Curtis.

Cecilia will be laid to rest next to her husband, Robert at Holy Family Cemetery in Hillman, Minnesota.

Local arrangements were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
