Bill Fred Koppelmann

1976-2017

Bill Fred Koppelmann, one of eight children of Clark and Sharon Faye (Rose) Koppelmann, was born February 16, 1976 in Nebraska City. He attended school in Julian, Nebraska through the eighth grade and graduated from Auburn High School in 1995. On May 6, 2000, Bill was united in marriage to Heather Oestmann at the First Presbyterian Church in Auburn. They made their home in Auburn for about a year, and then moved to Julian. They were blessed with two sons, Hunter and Colton. Bill had worked for a time for Boone Brothers Roofing Company in Omaha. He later took a job with Magnolia Metal Corporation in Auburn. He worked for many years as a furnace operator, and most recently was a CNC Lathe operator. In his spare time, Bill loved being in the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with family and friends, and spent many hours riding all-terrain vehicles. He especially loved hunting and fishing, and made sure to involve his sons in his hunting and fishing trips when he could. Bill loved to watch his sons play sports, including baseball, football, basketball and soccer. He was a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited, and was involved with the Youth Pheasant Hunting program. Bill was a member of the Julian Volunteer Fire Department, currently serving as chief. He also was the designated “family mechanic” when needed. On the evening of Thursday, June 22, 2017, Bill was rushed from his home in Julian to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. It was there he passed away that same evening, having reached the age of 41 years, 4 months and 6 days. His parents, brother Daniel, father-in-law Aralon Oestmann and “adopted” mother Margaret Warner preceded him in death. Those left to remember special times with Bill include his wife Heather and two sons Hunter and Colton of Julian; siblings and their spouses Ardis and Alvin Kaus of Colby, Kan.; David and Rosanna Koppelmann of Yorktown, Va.; Cynthia and Charles Coufal of Omaha; Brenda and David Klingforth of Papillion; Roland Koppelmann of Concord, Neb.; and Rita and James Parriott of Murray; mother-in-law Kathy Oestmann of Johnson; brothers-in-law Jamie and Melissa Oestmann of Papillion; and Trevor and Amy Oestmann of Auburn; “adopted” father Don Warner of Julian; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Bill’s funeral service was Monday, June 26, at the Auburn Berean Church, with Pastor Patric Klingforth officiating. Richard Warner accompanied solos by John Westerfield. Casket bearers were John Taylor, Eric Shelton, Todd Price, Jim Aughenbaugh, Jeff Mace, Jeff Beatty, Kyle Brinckerhoff, Gabe Kent, Jamie Reeves, Chad Hoover, Mark Baltensperger, Jason Jones, Jamie Oestmann and Trevor Oestmann. Burial was in Camp Creek Cemetery near Nebraska City. Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
