Betty Norma (Kellenberger) Burow
1927-2017
Betty Norma (Kellenberger) Burow, 89, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on November 3, 1927, in Glen Burnie, Maryland, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Knauff) Kellenberger. She married K. Wayne Burow on March 15, 1946, in Glen Burnie. Shortly after their marriage, Betty and Wayne moved to Humboldt, Nebr., where they lived for over 65 years. Wayne preceded her in passing on September 18, 2011. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Humboldt. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty enjoyed crafts and sewing, having run “Betty’s Bouquets” for approximately 10 years. She loved the game of bridge and played as often as possible. Betty was a gourmet cook and was fond of preparing outstanding meals for family and friends. She also loved animals and always had several cats by her side. Betty passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of June 17, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn, Nebr. having reached the earthly age of 89 years, seven months, and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne, a son Stephen (May, 1979) and nine brothers and sisters. Betty is survived by her daughter Cindy Burow of Humboldt; son Kenneth Burow Jr. and his wife Patricia of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren: Margo Neetz and her husband Ron of Monee, Illinois; Alex Burow and his wife Andrea of Fishers, Ind.; Jeff Burow of Indianapolis, Ind.; great-grandchildren Katelin Burow, Abbey Neetz, Jenna Burow, Hayden Neetz, Mya Burow and Ray Burow; brothers: Dale and Paul Kellenberger; and sisters: Jean Kellenberger and Ruth Gill. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 26, 2017, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, with Pastor Tim Llewellyn officiating. Interment was at the Humboldt Cemetery.
