The 2024-2025 negotiated agreement with the Auburn Education Association was ratified by the Auburn Public Schools (APS) Board of Education Monday night, Feb. 12.

In March of 2019, flooding from the Missouri River destroying Peru’s water treatment plant and compromising the City of Peru’s drinking water. As a result, 960,000 gallons of water had to be trucked into Peru and pumped up to the water tower. A temporary water treatment plant was installed in Peru to provide water, but it was not a sustainable source. In December of 2020, an agreement was struck to build a waterline that would provide the City of Peru with water from Auburn’s treatment plant.
Nemaha County Sheriff’s officers reported one individual died and two others sustained injuries late Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 6, in a two-vehicle crash.
