Friday, March 19, the Johnson-Brock High School Eagle speech team completed its season at the Class D-1 state contest.
The Auburn High School Speech Team captured third place among nine schools at the District B-1 Speech Contest at Conestoga High School near Murray Monday, March 8.

The climatological winter averaged 1.8 degrees below normal. February was the only month of the three to be below normal and ironically January was the warmest of the three. The maximum was 66 degrees on December 9th with the coldest temperature being -32 on February 16th. That was only the third time on record with temps of -30 degrees or colder. The other two instances were -35 in January 1895 and February of 1905. There were 33 days with daily maximums at or below freezing, while normal is 29. There were 13 days, all during February, with minimums at or below zero and normal is 10.
